Announcements

High-tech, digital set design by Greg Mitchell brings Verdi’s “Macbeth” to life in the 400-year-old remains of a convent in Panama.

We are proud to announce that the UCSB Department of Theater and Dance won 9 BroadwayWorld Regional Awards including Best Play and University Company of the Year. 

The Royal Shakespeare Company to produce a UCSB playwright’s and Assistant Professor Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig adaptation of a 13th-century Chinese play about injustice “Snow in Midsummer.” The play runs Feb 23 through Mar 25, 2017.

The Department is welcoming Sarah Jones as part of Michael Douglas Visiting Artist program. Ms. Jones will give a lecture on Wednesday January 25 at 5:30 pm at HSSB Ballet Studio. Tickets are FREE, reservation is REQUIRED.

Departmental alumna Diane Rodriguez is confirmed to the National Council on the Arts by the Senate in November 2016.
