One Acts
Reunion by James Still
REUNION is the story of two souls who get to spend 24-hours together once every 100 years -- a cosmic connection that spans time and space, logic and place. Part fantasy, part feeling, REUNION is mostly a mysterious love story -- the way all love stories dance with mysteries in one way or another.
Dash Climbs a Rope by James Still
Dash has a story to tell. He’s either an older man looking back at his adolescence — or a curious kid intuiting his future. It depends on how you look at the story. Part fictive memoir, part confession, part sexual awakening and all parts love and lust, DASH CLIMBS A ROPE is about a 13 year-old boy who climbs a rope in gym class and won’t come down. He has his reasons which make him surprisingly relatable: haven’t we all wanted to climb a rope and not come down? One thing for sure is that Dash’s story is a celebration of one kid’s inner life. Tired of queer stories always being depressing? Me too. DASH CLIMBS A ROPE is about the ways being authentic creates space for tenderness and triumph.
