The Department of Theater & Dance is excited to present Kinetic Lab 2025. The closing performance of the UCSB Dance Season, this concert will feature new works by Junior BFA Dance majors. Kinetic Lab is a process focused concert, allowing choreographers to work with small groups under a shortened time frame to develop their artistic voices for the Hatlen Stage. They will then continue their creative research arc with processes featuring larger casts and longer formats within their BFA Capstone projects in their senior year. 

Under the direction of brooke smiley (Assistant Professor of Dance) the program will feature both dance majors and non-majors, with Production Lighting Design by Michael Klaers. This is many student’s first time choreographing or performing for a stage such as the Hatlen, and this production is a wonderful look into the creativity and resourcefulness of UCSB Dance Students.
