Erin Cressida Wilson

Research

Erin Cressida Wilson is an award winning and internationally produced playwright, screenwriter, and Professor of Dramatic Writing in the Department of Theater and Dance at UCSB. She won the Independent Spirit Award for her screenplay - Secretary - starring James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. She also wrote the film, Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus - starring Nicole Kidman. Both films were directed by Steven Shainberg. Her fifteen plays/musicals/operas have been produced Off-Broadway, regionally and abroad at such theatres as The Brooklyn Academy of Music, Joe's Pub at the Public Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, the Magic Theatre, The Mark Taper Forum, Campo Santo Theatre, Classic Stage Company and the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh. Previously, Ms. Wilson taught Playwriting at Duke University for eight years, and was Professor of Graduate Playwriting at Brown University.
