Bio

Ms. Mercein is an actor, teacher, writer, and director. Her television and film acting credits include "30 Rock," "Blue Bloods," "Unforgettable," "Law & Order" and "The Prospects." Various New York and regional theatre acting credits include projects at Keen Company, HERE Arts Center, New Georges, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Pioneer Theatre Company, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Florida Studio Theatre, White Heron Theatre, Connecticut Free Shakespeare and Fulton Opera House. She has written several solo shows including "Beautiful Mount Airy Lodge" (White Heron Theatre, directed by Ryder Thornton), "Waiting," and "pretty." Her play "pretty" was published by PlaySource books in the anthology "Estrogenius: A Celebration of Women's Voices" (2003). "X’s and O’s (A Football Love Story)," the docudrama she co-created with KJ Sanchez, will receive its world premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in January 2015, directed by Tony Taccone. Previous teaching experience includes AMDA, Fordham University, Queens College and Nassau Community College. Ms. Mercein graduated from Yale University with a BA in Theater Studies and Hitosry of Art and received her MFA in acting from the University of Washington.
