LIFT OFF: Behind the Scenes of LAUNCH PAD was created in collaboration with the Department of Film and Media Studies by a film crew of 16 UC Santa Barbara students. After a "Preview Production” of its own at UCSB’s Pollock Theater in June 2015, LIFT OFF premiered as an Official Selection of the 2016 Santa Barbara International Film Festival! Finding the Funk
Following the success of LIFT OFF, a second documentary, Finding the Funk, was created by another class of UCSB students and also directed by Chris Jenkins. The film goes behind the scenes of the 2016 LAUNCH PAD Preview Production of We Want the Funk, a rustbelt lullaby on the one! by Idris Goodwin. Finding the Funk premiered at UCSB’s Pollock Theater in June 2016 and is available to watch in full below. (Directed by Chris Jenkins; Music by Randy Tico)
