Theatre Arts Group

The Theatre Artists Group [TAG] was founded in 1982 by several drama faculty who wished to work together as a resident theatre ensemble presenting classical and contemporary plays. Their debut production, Harold Pinter's The Caretaker, was performed in the summer and fall of 1982. The following year their production of A Delicate Balance, by Edward Albee, was named by the Santa Barbara News Press as the best Santa Barbara area production of the year. Subsequent seasons have included successful productions at UCSB and on tour of The Hot House, The Miser, Blood Knot, Faust, The Sea Gull, Memoirs, The White Rose, King Lear and Heartbreak House. On occasion, student apprentices have the opportunity to work and perform with TAG.
